The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Has it really come to an end?

Plein Air Thursday has come to the end of the season. We again were at the Senior Center because of rain.  It was a good session...with the regulars and some returning faces.
Today Michelle painted a beautiful painting of some red leaves and another painting of a wooded scene. Beautiful use of color Michelle and great use of the medium.

Priscilla returned today to paint laundry. Her painting is lively and colorful and the background is a beautiful shade of ochre.

Gloria was feeling dramatic and painted a beautiful white flower on a black background. It is dramatic  and striking in it's composition and rendered beautifully in pastels. Great job, Gloria.

Liz worked on her painting of San Miguel Allende. Her painting is in it's beginning stage so we hope she brings it back to class so we can see the finished piece.

Gigi painted some beautiful painting today. She painted a picture of Commorants in a tree that she started last week. Also she painted a scene of  Lupin in a field. She has such a great style that is unique to her. Great job Gigi.

Lastly, I had a productive day and finished a painting I did the previous week. I also was able to try my hand at capturing a sunset sky.
