The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Cool Weather brings colorful fall colors

Today there were 3 of us. The group is dwindling down and I am hoping that the cool weather will  bring more to painting group.
Charlene is painting this house in Eastport using acrylics. She painted another previously and sold it during Paint Eastport Day. The man that owns the house bought it. She is painting another one and has not finished it yet. The painting is going to be really nice. The tree next to the house is beautiful! Great job, Charlene!

Hi Charlene!

This adorable bunny was painted by Gigi using watercolors. This painting is fun and
I am sure on of her grandchildren will love it! Fabulous Gigi!

Gigi painted this little girl using watercolors. The vibrant dress is nicely done. The background
is very interesting and sets off the little girl. Wonderful, Gigi!

Back in the Art Rooom

September brings the art group back together. We meet for the first time since sumer. Hopefully everyone had a terrific summer.
Sheila painted this beautiful garden scene using watercolors. The bird bath is subtly beautiful with it's long shadows. The fence offers a horizontal and vertical appeal to the painting. This painting is in progress. I can't wait to see the finished
painting. Fantastic job , Sheila!

Gigi painted this monotone painting in watercolor. The lines of  this painting is unique and
interesting.  The lamps scroll lines are in juxtaposition with the tower behind. Fantastic
Gigi!!!!

The critique lineup

Sheila painted this evening scene with the moon reflected on the water. She used watercolor to bring this painting
to its' beautiful state.
Love it, Sheila!!

Gigi painted another painting however during a senior moment I thought I had already taken a photo of it. Truth be known,
I did not. So sorry, Gigi, I will put it on this site next week.
