The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Charlene reading her card from Gigi

Now your looking up Charlene!

Charlene created this scene using  charcoal. Her use of line
and value to create depth adds dimension to the drawing
Beautiful Charlene

Linda Stern painted this scene of a squirrel on her
deck. She used pastels to paint this. The painting is wonderful
but the vast space in the upper half  is not
complimentary to the composition. Time to crop.

Michelle painted this boat reflection on the water using
pastels. This simplicity of the shapes and the use of just a
few colors makes for a very interesting painting.
Beautifully done, Michelle!

Carol painted this painting using pastels on an orange ground.
The trees are very interesting with lots of movement. The colors
are exciting. Fabulous Carol!

Gigi painted this scene of buoy's and rope coils using a contemporary
abstract line. The colors are interesting as is the design.
Love it, Gigi!

Gloria painted this scene using pastels. She worked
on the front of the painting using soft colors so as
not to distract from the haunting windows of this old building.
Great Job, Gloria

Gigi painted this ballerina with an abstract touch. The painting
is exciting and has movement. Beautiful Gigi!

Priscilla painted this seagull using acrylics. This gull
may be standing but the painting is not static. The colors
are exciting along with the composition!

Liz worked on her painting using acrylics. She added the view
out the window and the art work on the wall. The painting
has come alive. Great Job Liz!

This is Linda Stern's pastel with come cropping. The focal
point is now the squirrel and the plant pot. This
painting now is more interesting.

Rita painted this coastal scene using pastels. The sky is
interesting and the viewer's eyes moves throughout the painting.
The water is beautiful with all the colors....Fabulous Rita!

Gail painted this view of the building across the way
using watercolor. The light in the windows is a great
contrast to the red brick wall. Interesting composition.
Great Job Gail!

Gail painted this winter scene using watercolor. The strokes in
the sky are exciting and beautiful. Love it, Gail

Gail painted this little gem using watercolors. The lack of
detail is what draws the viewer into this painting. The
composition is simple and masterful.
