The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Art in the Spring

Yes, Spring is here and The Plein Air Thursday group is painting lots of wonderful things.
It is so good to see everybody again. The group has make some wonderful strides and produced lots of beautiful  results.
Priscilla painted these colorful chickens. Wonderful composition and great use of color. This is a keeper!

Terri painted this using acrylics. The colors are beautiful and play off each other. Great complimentary colors that make the painting sing.
I think Terri needs to do a larger version.

Gail painted this painting of the Canola fields of The County using oils. This painting is inviting and colorful and draws the viewer in. Great job Gail.

Liz has gone abstract. This is a great start. The painting is in progress and I can't wait to see the finished
version. Liz has a great start with great use of color and interesting composition.
This is an oil painting that I started. I have use many colors for the rocks. I hope to
have it finished next week.

Nancy has done it again! This beautiful pastel that is interesting and her use of color is
masterful. This photo does not do justice to this wonderful pastel.

Nancy's second pastel is of Nova Scotia coast. Love the reflection and the
seaweed. Great job Nancy.

Carol painted this little gem using watercolor. I love the colors and the composition. It is and interesting painting
with a different medium for her.

Sheila started this watercolor painting today and she has a great start.
The tree is very expressive. Can't wait to see the finished painting.
