Quote

The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

The Last of October

This week our group was very productive. We welcomed back Linda Sterns and Gigi, aka Joanne MacIntosh. Barbara Mallonee, we wish you a speedy recovery from Bronchitis and hope to have you back with us real soon.
Rita painted this Eastport church using pastels. Her off angle approach
makes for an interesting composition. Great Job Rita!

Carol painted this farm stand using pastels. Her bright colors and
varied shapes make for a delightful painting. Fabulous, Carol.

Michelle painted this Prince Edward Island scene using
pastels. The composition is interesting and the values are
really good. Wonderful, Michelle!

Gloria painted this scene of a stone building using pastels.
The building is located in Eastport and over the years has
fallen in disrepair. Gloria is doing a great job in the
rendering of the stones. Great job Gloria!

Linda Sterns used pastels to capture the view of her
front deck. The composition is interesting with all the
verticals and horizontal lines. Work is in progress.
Wonderful job, Linda!

Charlene painted this pastel of Gloria and it looks
just like her. Painting a portrait in pastel is so difficult.
Fabulous Job, Charlene!

Sue began this oil painting of a scene in Monhegan.
The painting is in progress.

Liz painted this meadow along the water using acrylics. The
painting is in progress....I love it so far.
Great Job, Liz
