The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Deer Isle Invitation

Thursday was a day of sheer joy. The group was invited to a friends home on Deer Isle to
paint. The weather was fabulous...a perfect 10. After setting up our gear we began to paint the fabulous scenery. We thank our friend from the bottom of our hearts for inviting us to this very special place.
Here are the pictures...
Carol discusses the composition of her oil painting.  So far so good.

Carol's Oil painting is stunning. Love the colors she used. Beautiful job, Carol!

Terrie painted the view of the point using acrylics. Her soft muted colors capture the feeling of solitude . Wonderful
Terrie!

Gigi painted her view from the screen tent. Her expressive style livens this scene and
invites the viewer into the painting. Beautiful Watercolor, Gigi

Gigi painted these birch trees with a loose and flowing stroke. Fabulous watercolor, Gigi!

Gigi painted this scene of the reach and the racing sailboats using watercolor....the paper she used was not the best
but she managed to create a beauty!

This painting is in progress and yes the artist is Gigi.  She is off to a great start.

This colorful watercolor was created by Gigi. Again another beauty!!
