The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Summer on the Waterfront

We discovered a really nice place to plain air paint. It is the Brewer Waterfront with its new paved trails and benches along the path. Sheila and I headed to the High Tide Restaurant parking lot (formerly Schooners Restaurant). If weather is not good we will be in the Senior Center.
The weather was so perfect that we decided to try it out and loved it. Next week will will paint again at the same place...so if you're interested in painting plain air meet at the High Tide
Restaurant parking lot at 1pm.
Here are the fruits of our labor (of love).
Sheila painted this waterfront scene of Bangor using watercolors. The colors in the trees are
beautiful and reflected in the water Her Buildings are a nice shade of red and the skyline
is depicted beautifully! Fabulous job, Sheila

Sue painted this Bangor Waterfront using oils. This painting is in progress.
