The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Artist Expression Beating the Cold

I was not able to be at this painting session since that darn flu got me....but I will survive...I think.
Here is the paintings that Nancy sent to me...Thank You Nancy!!

Gigi painted this water lily pond using acrylics. The contrast between the light flowers
and the dark water is very effective. Beautiful as ever Gigi!

Gigi has captured my imagination again with these beautiful colors and wonderful composition. The
loose form she uses is so interesting. Fabulous, Gigi!!!

Gigi painted this scene using acrylics. Love that loose approach!
Great Job, Gigi!

Terrie painted this sweet little bird with lots of color using acrylics.  Her rendition of the soft feathers is excellent.
This is a great composition and the background  is handled very well and compliments the painting
Fabulous Terrie!!

Nancy painted this sweet side-garden using oils.  The colors are remicient of summer and we all want to be thinking about that right about now! Beautifully executed with color and composition that are interesting
and inviting. Thank you Nancy for taking the pictures for me this week and your painting is beautiful!

Patsy painted this painting using acrylics. This is her first attempt to paint people and she is doing a fine job.
The composition draws you in with the couple seated at the table and behind them is a lovely seaside view.
The color and form is great in this painting as well as the use of color. Really good job, Patsy!

So happy our Rita is back with us, I do so enjoy her paintings. This one is no exception.
Rita used pastels to paint this scene and the warm colors in the road lead the viewer right into the
painting. The trees and foliage is treated loosely and with many colors. The blue door reminds me
of Europe...could this be Italy?! Fabulous Rita!

Terrie has painted this scene using acrylics..and glazes and wonderful colors. That sky is gorgeous! I know that
this is a work in progress so I am excited how she finishes it. Exciting so far...Terrie!
