The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Charlene pained this summer scene of Monhegan using watercolor.
The painting already has a strong focal point as the path draws the
viewer into the painting. Beautiful Job. Charlene.

with the water drawing the eye into the sunlit area. The shadows
are interesting shapes and the water is beautifully reflective of the
sky. Fabulous, Nancy!

cow to the scene and will be adding one more animal to
draw the eve into the painting. This painting is serene and

soft color of the sky is a great contrast to the trees. The tonal quality
of this painting is beautiful. A triadic use of color. Beautiful, Michelle!
