Plein Air Thursday: The Sky is the Limit

This week we painted inside at the Senior Center because of impending rain. Some of us painted using some new techniques. Experimenting with new techniques can bring out creativity and new direction in an artist...plus it's lots of fun. The sky is the limit.

Sue painted this on location at Gail's cottage in Hancock. Using acrylics, Sue painted this
plein air and then brought it in the art room to add more.

Michelle tried something new with this painting. She printed the photo on pastel paper and then
she added the color using pastels. The result is a softness and a beautiful painting.

Gigi painted this colorful tulip using acrylics. The perspective she used is very interesting.

Sheila used watercolor to create this beautiful, mystical painting. Her color choice is bright and alluring .
Sheila painted the water with beautiful strokes that have a shimmer about them. Her loose
approach makes this painting unique and expressive. Beautiful, Sheila!

Terrie painted these three little ducks using acrylics and lots of expression. These little ducks look as if the
are chattering together...."and now for our swimming lesson"

created fabulous colorful iris. The positioning of the jars is critical in creating interest.

Charlene painted these rock formation using watercolor on Yupo. This paper is difficult to
paint on since it does not absorb any water. Charlene mastered this difficult technique and produced
