Hancock, Me. Here WE Come!

After a full week or rain the sun finally came out. The temps rose from 52 degrees to 85 degrees.Wow, What a difference. Thursday was the perfect day to go to Hancock to paint plain air. Gail was nice enough to offer her cottage for the day and we took full advantage. We all packed our lunches and painting gear and carpooled to Hancock.
Here is the culmination of all the paintings we did.

Gigi and Gloria started out with a bang....Gigi had several paintings done before the rest of us
figured out just what we were going to paint.

Linda is happy to be by the coast!

Gloria painted this rocky scene using pastels. She will be making some minor adjustments

Carol Painted this beach scene using pastels. The loose strokes make for a very interesting

Carol painted this apple tree in full bloom using pastels. Again her loose strokes and colorful pallet

Gloria painted this scene suing pastels. The trees are beautiful and colorful. The color of the sky and the ocean are
complimentary. Wonderful, Gloria!


Michelle painted this scene using pastels. the trees reflecting in the water is lovely.The light green brings a freshness

Michelle did this pen and ink sketch of some rocks and seaweed  on the beach. Her use
of many varied lines to create the scene is interesting and alluring.

Charlene painted this scene using pastels.  The curves of the roots and the beautiful negative
spaces make a very interesting design. The colors are beautiful that Charlene used and
her use of warm colors in the foreground draws the viewer into the painting. Spectacular, Charlene!

Rita painted these Lady Slipper's using pastels. The shapes are very interesting and  the viewers eye travels

Linda did this coastal scene using acrylics and a pallet knife,  The red background
is exciting and the far off trees recede nicely. Great Job with the pallet knife and

Gail sketched this tree using pen and ink. She
will be adding some watercolor washes to it. Can't

Gail painted these plastic soda bottles using acrylics. She is using the bottles
to help irrigate her garden when she is away. So Colorful and too
beautiful for a soda bottle. Great job Gail!

  1. Isn't this the first time we've had all of us in a photo? Need to include Nancy and Shelia too sometime. I especially like the pic of the five artists on the flats painting. Just a fun, fun day.
