Quote

The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Lively, Exciting and Creative

Lively, Exciting and Creative is how this group worked today. This Thursday we had a small group, just 3 of us but the room was a buzz with beautiful art

If you want an Art Show at the Senior Center, call Necia Yates for a date.

I would like to know if the group is going to continue at the Senior center on Thursdays or not???The University Wyeth Center is being utilized by our group on Fridays, until the end of April. After that I'm not sure of the schedule. We will prevail on.

Even though there was only 3 of us we had such a productive session.
Michellle captured spring in this wonderful depiction of Maine Fiddleheads. She
used pastels to express the various textures. Fabulous composition and the light is
resting on the ferns with a glow. Michelle this is Excellent!!

Gigi painted this lighthouse scene using acrylics. The bridge draws the viewer into the painting and the lighthouse is reflected in the water. Great loose strokes and fabulous colors. Great job, Gigi!

Gigi painted this scene using acrylics. Gigi has wonderful brush strokes that add to the interest
of the painting. Her use of color is bold and exciting. The composition is balanced and
the sky is full of loose brush strokes that makes for a very beautiful painting. Fabulous, Gigi!

Sue painted this still-life with a pallet knife. This produced a loose effect that Sue was aiming for. The background is
still in progress.

The critique line up.
