Quote

The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Spring Painting

Small group today...Gigi, Sheila and myself. We did have a great time painting. Priscilla stopped in and she had a horrible cold so she went directly home.
Spring is trying to come to Maine but we're having issues with the temperature.
Happy Easter everyone!

Sheila painted this floral with watercolor. The colors are vibrant and bright and is just what we all needed
today. Sheila has a great composition with the stems going from bottom left to right corner. The blue background
is beautiful and has lots of variations. Great job, Sheila!

Gigi painted this scene using acrylics. She found this garden in the center of St Andrews, Canada and
wanted to paint it. Her warm colors in the foreground draw the viewer into the
painting with the eye traveling back to the windmill. Fabulous Gigi!

Sue painted these two pairs using acrylics. The painting is in progress with lots more to go.

The critique lineup

Gigi and Sheila during the critique.
