Plein Air Thursday: Spring with Enthusiasm

Spring gets so busy after a long and slow winter, it's difficult to get back into the busy mode. Maybe I'll blame my slip-up on that.(Sorry) I forgot to post last weeks photos so this week I will have photos from both painting sessions.

Both sessions were very productive.

Priscilla is painting this socio-political piece using acrylics
She is using this painting to make a statement about ageism
So far Priscilla has painted in the background and part of the runner.
So far it is very good! Can't wait to see this piece finished.

Sue painted this pasture scene using acrylics. She has been working on it
for several weeks...and now it is done. This farm is close by to where Sue lives.

Sheila painted this row of Kayak's using watercolor. The stack of them
makes for an interesting composition and color pattern.

Sheila painted this lady using watercolor. I especially love the hat but Sheila has
rendered this figure very nicely. Love the color !

Terrie painted this claw foot tub in this summer cottage using acrylics. The
painting has a soft quality with lots of color. I would love to be soaking in this
tub gazing at the beautiful view. Fabulous job, Terrie!

Gigi painted this girl in a hammock using acrylics. I love the fluid motion of the trees and the
many colors that she used. Wonderful Gigi!

Rita brings us to Italy with this scene that she captured using pastels.
The shapes in this painting make it interesting and the colors make it playful.

Rita painted another Italian scene using pastels. The colors are beautiful as well
as the marks. This painting is in progress....so far it's beautiful, Rita!

Rita painted this colorful windowsill using pastels. The potted
plants are a window garden. The curtain on the window is soft
and sheer. Rita's approach with color and markings make this
painting a keeper! Beautiful, Rita!

Glass top-table is by Nancy. She is painting a series using this table. The glass
reflections are fabulous as well as the plants and shell.

Charlene painted this Italian city street scene using oil. The colors
are warm and inviting with a touch of cool, the tables and chairs.
Wonderful use of a triadic color scene. The shapes are lovely in
this painting. Fabulous, Charlene!

This is where we begin last weeks painting session.

Sheila captured the blue Heron in the grasses using watercolor. She has utilized
her colors throughout the painting so the eye travels around the painting.

This dog, Mosie is being painted in acrylic by his owner,Priscilla. She captured the dog in
the snowbank just sitting. I love what you've done so far and look forward
to the completed painting. Great Job!

Gigi painted these two boats tied up at the pier, using acrylics. She captured the water beautifully.
The reflections are there and t he simplicity of this composition makes it interesting.

Rita worked on this Italian scene again this week. You can see that she has developed
it more and that it is more interesting. Love the colors she used and the
patterns of her marks.

Rita painted these grapes using pastels. She enhanced
the colors and the textures which gave this painting a punch.

Terrie worked on her Aviator again this week and it is developing into
a great painting.. The plane and the jacket are especially beautiful.

Nancy painted her coffee table again with a few different objects on it. I love
the colors she used. The pattern of light coming through is spectacular.
