The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Good day in the 'Hood

Thursday was such a rainy day. We are not complaining because we really needed the rain. As a result we are in the Senior Center painting. Small group today but an excited one. You can just feel the creativity bouncing in the air.
Carol painted this while on vacation at Cold Stream. Glad you sent
me the photo, Carol. Your painting is a summertime delight!

Carol painted this colorful piece, again while on vacation. The
composition is really nice and the colors are vibrant resulting
in a happy painting. Fabulous, Carol!

Sue painted this scene of Pleasant Pond sunrise. The goal
was to paint atmosphere...fog and clouds.

Sheila painted this adorable little guy using watercolors.
The painting is not quite finished but Sheila is well on
her way to a successful piece. Wonderful, Sheila

Liz painted this explosion of flowers..this week she added
the rod iron gate. The effect is a great because it defines the
painting. Love the composition and the color!

Nancy painted this view of Rita's Croc's. The colors are
fun and the shadows are very interesting. Great composition and
wonderful painting, Nancy.

Nancy painted this view of a barn with window boxes that are
bursting with flowers. (oils) The shadows add such
intrest to this painting.

Rita painted this scene using pastels. The texture in this
painting is very nice as well as the colors. Makes you
want to stroll down this road! Beautiful Rita.
