We love visitors

Today our painting group had some visitors that we haven't seen for awhile. Joanne MacIntosh and Linda Packard. Joanne aka Gigi, arrived for the critique which Linda did. It was like old times again with Linda at the helm. Gigi your looking good and we were thrilled to see you today.
 After all the visiting we did get down to business and paint.

Nancy was painting this adorable scene.

Charlene worked on this painting of Monhegan.
She used pastel to create this lovely scene. The
shadows are soft and interesting Beautifully done.


Nancy finished this oil painting of pre-school children on a hike with
their their teachers. The children are holding on to a rope
The painting is an interesting composition. The viewer can
just imagine what the child on the end is thinking.

Terrie painted this floral painting with acrylics and
a palette knife. This photo doesn't do justice to the
beautiful stokes she used and the interest of
the colors she used.

This watercolor was painted by Sheila. The composition is
interesting and this little girl is masterfully painted.

Priscilla painted this fun pool scene using acrylics. She painted
herself along with friend Terrie swimming laps in the pool.
The colors are bright and the figures in the water
are impart the feeling of movement. Super job, Priscilla

Terrie painted this scene using acrylics. She painted it last
week and did some finishing touches this week. This painting
came alive with the deepening of the shadows on the barn.

Rita painted this scene using pastels. By having half of
the boat in the painting makes for an interesting composition.

Rita painted this scene of laundry fluttering in the wind on
Monhegan Island. Rita used colorful clothing to
bring interest to the painting. Beautiful Rita! 

Charlene painted this Monhegan scene using pastels. The
path draws the viewers eye up to the buildings. The church is
especially nice against the stormy sky. Incredible, Charlene.

Fall Happening

Today was a fall happening. Our painting group came together to renew old friendships and
to share their love of painting. Some group members returned after a summer away while
others returned after painting (with a small group) all summer. It is such fun to see everyone again...we are still missing a few but hope they will return soon.

Terrie painted these adorable sheep using acrylics. Terrie
painted these sheep from a picture she had taken at
 Gail's house. Love the fur! Great job Terrie.

Terrie painted her shoes on the step using acrylic paints. The colors
are vibrant and the composition is wonderful. Fabulous, Terrie

Priscilla painted this reflective scene using acrylics. The
reflection is nicely done and makes for a beautiful composition.

Gloria painted this scene using pastels. The simplicity
of the composition draws the viewer into the painting.
The shadows are wonderful and slightly angled

Liz painted this scene of downtown Bangor plain air on "Paint Bangor
Day" under adverse conditions,( the wind was howling)
The colors of the buildings are wonderful and make Bangor look like

Fall days great for painting

Fall has arrived. The days are warm with a cool breeze and the nights are cool. This week the group painted with vigor. Gloria returned and was welcomed with conversation. Good to see you Gloria! Gloria my apology to you. I was loading the photos on to this web site and the picture of your painting was deleted ...my mistake. I will be sure to post it next week..so please bring it to group next thursday.

Below are the painting that were produced ..
Barbara painted this Maine scene using watercolors. The Moose,
Mama and Baby Bear and the Raccoon are depicted in a
vignette composition that is inviting to the eye.

Sue started a large painting this week using oils. This is
the underpainting. Work is in progress.

Carol painted this seaside scene using watercolors. The rocks are
very colorful and the seagulls show lots of action which makes
for a very interesting and beautiful painting.

Liz painted this Bangor scene using acrylics. The colorful buildings
makes for an uplifting feeling and a great composition.

Rita painted this waterfront scene of Eastport using pastels. This
is the underpainting and next she will paint with soft pastels.
