The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Hi Sheila!

Linda Sterns working on her drawing.

Nancy was painting this adorable scene.

Charlene working on her pastel.

Charlene worked on this painting of Monhegan.
She used pastel to create this lovely scene. The
shadows are soft and interesting Beautifully done.

Nancy finished this oil painting of pre-school children on a hike with
their their teachers. The children are holding on to a rope
The painting is an interesting composition. The viewer can
just imagine what the child on the end is thinking.
Fabulous Nancy.

Terrie painted this floral painting with acrylics and
a palette knife. This photo doesn't do justice to the
beautiful stokes she used and the interest of
the colors she used.
Wonderful Terrie.

This watercolor was painted by Sheila. The composition is
interesting and this little girl is masterfully painted.
Great job Sheila.

Priscilla painted this fun pool scene using acrylics. She painted
herself along with friend Terrie swimming laps in the pool.
The colors are bright and the figures in the water
are impart the feeling of movement. Super job, Priscilla

Terrie painted this scene using acrylics. She painted it last
week and did some finishing touches this week. This painting
came alive with the deepening of the shadows on the barn.
Wonderful composition. This is a gem. Great job Terrie,

Rita painted this scene using pastels. By having half of
the boat in the painting makes for an interesting composition.
Rita, Great job!

Rita painted this scene of laundry fluttering in the wind on
Monhegan Island. Rita used colorful clothing to
bring interest to the painting. Beautiful Rita!

Charlene painted this Monhegan scene using pastels. The
path draws the viewers eye up to the buildings. The church is
especially nice against the stormy sky. Incredible, Charlene.

Sue painted this Monhegan using oils. The painting is in progress.

Priscilla is having fun!
