The way to understand art is to go and look at it. And if out of a million visitors there is even one to whom art means something, that is enough to justify museums ( Pierre Auguste Renoir)
"Art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is to
accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study
nature and practice continually." (Edgar Payne, 1883-1947)

Artist bloom

Another day inside....the weather is not cooperating! The group painted in the Center this week. Even though we didn't get to paint Plein air the art was glorious.

Priscilla painted this Rooster using watercolor. This is
a new medium for her but she is mastering it. Beautiful job!

Barbara did some sketches for her book that  she is planning
to write. Your on to something great, Barbara.

More of Barbara's sketches. You can guess this book is
about her family dog. Can't wait to see this finished project.

Terri painted this beautiful scene using acrylics. The red trees
frame the painting nicely, The road shadows are great. Terri
you can be proud of this one!

Michelle painted this forest scene using pastels. The colors
are very interesting as is the whole painting. The light is a perfect
touch. Wonderful work, Michelle.

Michelle painted these flowers using pastels. The composition is
very interesting with the only part of the flower. Lovely.

Michelle painted this forest scene using pastels. The light is drawing
in the viewer to beyond the trees. Fabulous.

Nancy painted this scene using pastels. The spring green
of the trees are in contrast to the red roof. The shadows
make for interesting viewing. Beautifully done, Nancy!

Sheila painted this beautiful Lilly using watercolors The
colors are vibrant and eye catching. Great Job Sheila!

Gloria is painting this train scene using oils. She has
captured the length of the train well. Great perspective
Can't wait to see this completed. Great Job Gloria!

Carol is working on this commission piece using oils. The
perspective is interesting and pleasing to the eve.
This painting is in progress. Great start on this one, Carol!

Gail painted this watercolor while on vacation in
Key West. The blowing trees gives atmosphere to this
beautifully done watercolor. Great Job Gail....and
glad your back.

Sue painted this scene using oils. Good contrasts in the
piece.

Sue did some adjusting to this piece from last week...and now
needs to do more. The building wall needs to be lightened. I will post it
after it is completed.

  1. I am in awe each week of how good this group is. We all have grown so much but then again we have the support to grow, actually to fly if that is our desire. Just wonderful.
