Busy as a Bee

Even though winter is trying to hang on to this State...The Plein Air Painters Thursday group is thinking spring. Art produced during this session was colorful and exciting. You be the judge.
Rita painted this scene using pastels. The composition
of this painting is very interesting. She created
a sense of depth with the rails. Great use of color that
adds darks and lights to this beautiful painting. Great job, Rita!

Terrie painted this still-life using acrylics. The composition is
interesting because of the partial view of the teapot. Her use
of color flows well. Very Nice, Terrie!

Rita painted this floral using pastels. Rita has been
working on this painting and she increased the hue as well
as the values. She now has a very successful painting. Beautiful, Rita!

Sue painted this "Melting" using oils. She painted
plein air. 

Terrie painted this floral bouquet using acrylics. Her
technique of layering colors enhances the values
and creates unity in the painting. Beautiful, Terrie!

Liz painted this Mexico scene using acrylics. Her use of color and
perspective invites the viewer into the painting. Fabulous, Liz!

Nancy painted this Maine scene using acrylics. The warm colors
in the foreground invites the viewer to enter this scene. The
values are very good and the shadows are excellent. Nancy this is
a winner. Beautiful!

Nancy is painting this nocturnal scene from
her window. The wet streets and the reflections makes
for an intriguing mood.

Her application of color is unique and very successful.

The background is beautiful against the green and

Priscilla painted "Bates" using acrylics. This adorable
little dog is hiding under a towel . The texture Priscilla
used throughout the painting creates an interesting effect.
